1911-D/D Repunched Mint Mark

The 1911-D Saint Gaudens did have a prominent Repunched Mint Mark.  Today we are showcasing 4 coins of interest.  Below is the information on the always interesting and highly collectible 1911-D/D Repunched Mint Mark.

The 1911-D RPM is one of the few distinct die varieties in the Saint Gaudens series.  This is a must for any Saint Gaudens collector.  The Repunched Mint Mark D/D was created when the first strike of the D mint mark was struck too far right.  Then the second strike was made in the correct place making it a D/D.

The 1911-D/D is more than 31 X rarer that the regular 1911-D example in reference to the PCGS Pop.
