2019-S One Ounce Silver Enhanced Reverse Proof Coin

One week ago today the US Mint released the 2019-S One Ounce Silver Enhanced Reverse Proof Coin with a “one per household” limit. They knew that this coin would be extremely popular. But no one expected what happened. When the clock struck Noon on 11-14-2019, the US Mint reportedly had 99,000 users online and 4,700 people on the phone. The mint was selling them at a rate of 1,800 per minute on average and they were sold out shortly after they launched. We had our extensive network of people attempt to purchase the coins right at noon but were only able to secure a small percentage of what we originally wanted to get. Since then, the price of the coins on the secondary market has skyrocketed and even raw coins have been trading around $1,000 per coin.

Perfect 70 Examples

We committed our grading with ICG Coin and began preselling the 2019-S Silver Enhanced Reverse Proof ICG PR70 S$1 on our site and on eBay. We have a special American Flag Tag that we have used for this product that will represent this United States’ low mintage offering.

Yesterday we were the first customer at ICG to grade this prestigious coin. All these coins will be part of the Initial Release which is coins that have been submitted within the first 30 days of release from the US Mint. These are all perfect Proof 70’s and have a beautiful eye appeal with both flashy proof surfaces and reverse proof surfaces. This is truly a collectors coin.

Comparable Low Mintage Modern Coins

The coin itself has a tiny mintage of only 30,000 total examples and for a modern coin, this is nearly unheard of. Historically the only few examples of Silver Eagles that have had a low mintage were the 1995-W Proof Silver Eagle, and the 2015(P) Silver Eagles that were minted at the Philadelphia Mint. Both of those examples maintain an extremely high price over their mint issue price.
